Dust Collection Method Using Lubricant Impregnated Surface |

Recently, air pollution by small particulate matter become one of the most severe issue. Though various types of filters have been developed to improve dust collection efficiency, still, only the conventional solid filters with micro-pores are being used to collect dusts. Here we introduce a novel strategy to collect dusts by realizing thin non-volatile liquid coating (few hundreds nanometer) on porous media. The thin liquid layer has advantage of strong adhesion with solid dusts resulting in high dust collection efficiency by direct dust adhesion, which suggests a new way to reduce dusts significantly from air. |
