제목 Synthesis of uniform anisotropic nanoparticles by elastic stress-driven phase separation
초록 We describe a novel approach for fabricating 100nm-sized uniform nanoparticles with controllable surface anisotropy. Our approach is based on the graft polymerization onto silica nanoparticles and consecutive seeded emulsion polymerization. The phase separation was driven by enhancing temperature, which generates the elastic stress of the crosslinked polymer thin shell at the silica surface. Moreover, chemical anisotropy of nonspherical particles can be obtained by using immiscible polymer pairs during the seeded emulsion polymerization. It is expected that our anisotropic nonspherical nanoparticles synthesized in nanometer length scales can be used as colloidal surfactants.
