제목 | A Study on fabrication of open-cell Mg-Al alloy metal foam |
초록 | Metal foam has so many excellent properties, such as lightweight, incombustible, thermal insulation, sound absorption, energy absorption and pro-environment[1], that it is attracting concerns of many people. The open-cell foam has a complex macrostructure consisting of an interconnected network. The Mg-Al alloy foam has not only characteristics of metal, but also a new class of properties of novel physical, mechanical, thermal, electrical, and acoustic[2]. Open cell foam is also valuable to be a body-bone as a degradable biomaterial. It usually is used as heat exchangers, because they have a high coefficient of thermal conductivity, increased surface area . The physical property of granula determines the different pore size and relative density which determine the complex marostructure and the mechanical properties. In this paper, the novel granule is made, the open cell process was introduced, and the structure and mechanical properties were investigated. The open-cell Mg-Al alloy foams with tailored porous morphology were synthesized by investment casting method. The many different shape salt or suger is to fabricate the granula. Plaster and perlite powder was adequately mixed. An aqueous solution containing Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) was binder. Put the mold into the mould for corresponding size and compress them with the mixing gas of SF6 and CO2. the porosity, pore size and distribution, compressive and hardness of the foam were tested. A software named I-Solution was used to measure the pore size and distribution, the hardness was tested by the micro hardness tester. It is advantage is the property of super light, It is widely applied in the future Mg-Al alloy foam production. |
