제목 Preparation of SiC fiber from polycarbosilane by electron beam irradiation
초록 Silicon carbide fiber(SiC) was prepared from a polycarbosilane which was cured by electron beam irradiation. The PCS was melt spun in to fiber at spinning apparatus. The spun fiber was irradiated by 10MeV electron beam up to dose of 104 kGy with the dose rate of 1 kGy/s under Ar environmental. The curing process consists of electron beam and subsequent heat treatment. The cured PCS fiber was placed in an alumina tube furnace and heat treated in the range of 1,000℃ to 1,500℃ for 1 hr under nitrogen atmosphere. Chemical composition of SiC fiber obtained by heat treatment in N2 at various temperature after pyloysis of cured PCS fibers was evaluated by elemental analysis. X-ray diffraction patterns of SiC fiber were obtained for verifying of crystalline structure for SiC fiber.
