제목 Thermal Tunability of Lamellar Spacing of Various Block Copolymer-like Supramolecules: Theory and Experiment
초록 This work demonstrates that the use of block copolymer-like supramolecules permits thermal tuning of microphase period owing to the reversibility between supramolecular assembly and disassembly. Our theoretical and experimental results based on binary end-functionalized blend forming block-like supramolecules shows that the lamellar microphase swells upon heating up to almost 300%. Such a wide range of lamellar swelling cannot be observed, within the same material, in any covalent-bonded block copolymer system. Hence, the thermal control of microphase dimensions via supramolecular assembly and disassembly is more advantageous than conventional methods that need changing molecular weight or the composition of block copolymer since the control can be made in the same material. One can envisage such a material that the characteristic dimension of microphase can be flexibly tuned for a variety of uses.
