제목 Hierarchical Structures Derived from the Buckling of Block Copolymer Thin Films
초록 Buckling of thin films on elastomeric substrates such as PDMS has recently gathered much attention because of the simplicity of formation or mechanics as well as potential applications for stretchable devices. Many recent studies have focused on the buckled structure mainly formed by employing metal or semiconductor thin films on top of rubbery substrates. Here, we present the buckling of block copolymer (BCP) thin films placed on PDMS substrates, using novel BCP offset printing technique. The strain to induce buckling was controlled by either mechanical stress or chemical swelling/recovery of PDMS substrates, yielding hierarchical structure with BCP nanodomain in the presence of micron-sized buckled structure. We observed the structural change of BCP thin films by varying the alignment of directed self-assembled BCP domains with respect to the buckling direction. Furthermore, we could control buckling parameters such as wavelength by varying the physical parameters of BCP thin films.
