We’ve synthesized suspensions of tailor-made anatase TiO2 nanoparticles and polystyrene (PS) microspheres with a high degree of dispersion stability. A composite film of PS/TiO2 has been directly fabricated by solvent evaporation during diverse colloidal self-assembly process on a fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) glass substrate, which exhibits the highly ordered opaline structure of PS embedded into the TiO2 matrix. Highly reflective TiO2 inverse opal (IO) film exhibiting controllable thickness, high TiO2 content, and excellent interfacial contact with the glass substrate can be obtained by eliminating the sacrificial PS microspheres, and this structure can be utilized as electrode for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting. In this study, there are a variety of introductions into the TiO2 IO film or measurement to enhance the efficiency of PEC water splitting. |
