A New Type of Dragon-Fly shaped pyrrolo-perylene based polymer for OTFTs |

A new couple of organic polymer based on bithiophene with alkyl end capping units was synthesized and fully characterized through proper structural design and instrument analysis. The synthesized pyrrolo-perylene based polymer(PLWX1) was characterized by the elemental analysis, 1H NMR, FT-IR. The thermal and photophysical properties of PLWX1 was also studied using thermalgravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), cyclic-voltametry (CV), UV-Vis absorption and photoluminescence (PL) studies. The band-gap of polymer is 2.01 eV and the HOMO is 5.56 eV. The large band gaps and low-lying HOMO energy levels could result in much better stability. The alkyl substituted end capping units enhanced solubility of the polymer. These results will be presented in detail. The number-, weight-average molecular weight of the polymers were 4461 and 5266, determined by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) using polystyrene standards for calibration in the eluent CHCl3. |
