제목 | Prototype reflective electrochromic display prepared by monodisperse viologen-modified polymeric microspheres |
초록 | The prototype reflective electrochromic display (R-ECD, Scheme 1) containing four pixel was fabricated, and their electro-optical properties were measured. In order to achieve a rapid response time and a good coloration efficiency of the R-ECD device, the alkyl chain length of viologen pendants, the content of functional groups, the size of microspheres and porous structure was applied referring our previous works. The 1-(1-bromo decyl)-1'-heptyl-4,4'-bipyridinium dibromide was synthesized, and monodisperse porous poly(styrene-co-acrylonitrile) microspheres were prepared. The size of microspheres was controlled using the medium solvency during the dispersion polymerization, and large content of acrylonitrile was incorporated in the second monomer mixtures. The monodispersity and morphology of microspheres were monitored utilizing an optical microscope (OM), and a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
