X-shaped Anthracene based π-Conjugated Molecules bearing Thienothiophene Substituents as Organic Semiconductors |

X-shaped conjugate molecules exhibited the advantages of small/macromolecules due to their great crystallinity and high molecular weight for improving the film formation.New X-shaped conjugated molecules bearing thienothiophene units were synthesized.Introduction of fused thiophene-based peripheral moiety into an aromatic core improve the solubility in organic solvent for facilitating the solution device fabrication.Effect of substitution positions of thienothiophene moieties on the electronic properties are quite intriguing for considering their various application.They showed intriguing meso/microscopic self-organization of molecules inducing the anisotropic molecular arrangement in a localized area.We investigated the photophysical and electronic properties of the new X-shaped molecules.Finally,we fabricated thin film transistor to investigate the carrier mobility and its photoresponsivity under light illumination.Photovoltaic devices were also fabricated with those materials. |
