제목 Effects of the additives in nMMO on the properties and structures of Lyocell
초록 Lyocell, which is made from environmental-friend nMMO, has been refocused as an alternative of Rayon, which is usually regenerated from toxic solvents. . However, Lyocell is known to have so dense crystal structure that it becomes more brittle than Rayon. In this study, several additives such as ethylene glycol (EG), poly vinyl alcohol (PVA) and poly acetic acid (PAA) were mixed with nMMO during dissolving cellulose in order to improve toughness of Lyocell. The profound differences were found in mechanical properties by adding small amounts of addictives; elongation was significantly increased without much deteriorating modulus. The origin of this improved toughness was explored using SEM and X-ray scattering to establish the structure and property relationship
