제목 Photocatalytic water splitting using TiO2-embedded carbon nanofibers for hydrogen generation
초록 Photocatalytic water splitting (PWS) is the very simple and promising technology to generate H2 fuel.  However it is difficut to seperate the powdered photocatalysts from reaction systems, which precludes the recycle of the catalyst.
In order to avoid the drawbacks of semiconductor powders, we report a novel application of carbon-based support material for photocatalytically active phase, carbon nanofibers with a macroscopic shaping. Furthermore the carbon nanofibres (CNF) as a support material in heterogeneous catalysis have attracted growing interest due to their specific characteristics. The CNF are resistant to acid/base media and precious metals can easily be recovered by burning off the support. The material also provides a relatively high surface area which may promote high dispersion of the metals. In this work we have prepared a novel TiO2-embedded carbon nanofibers (TiO2/CNF) for a clean and simple system for solar hydrogen production.
