A series of waterborne polyurethane using hyperbranched polyester as chain extender (WHPU) were prepared via a two-step process. Initially, the prepolymer was reacted with isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), polycaprolactone diol (PCL) and dimethylol butanoic acid (DMBA). Polymerizations were carried out with various equivalence ratios of prepolymer (NCO): hyperbranched polyester (OH) = 1:1, 1:2, 1:4. The structure, thermal and mechanical properties of the resulting WHPU films have been investigated by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) and universal testing machine(UTM). |
