제목 Reduction of interfacial charge recombination in TiO2-based solar cells with surface-modified photoelectrodes.
초록 Titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles have been widely used in the removal of metal ions from waste water, since they have strong adsorption properties of metal ions. In this study, the metal-ion-adsorbing ability of TiO2 was utilized to control the electron transfers in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) such as the interfacial charge recombination, the electron injection or the dye regeneration. In order to incorporate the metal ions on TiO2 surface, the bare TiO2/FTO was soaked into an aqueous metal salt solution, and then rinsed with water and dried. The resulting electrodes were applied to the photoelectrodes of DSSCs. We expected the metal ions to reduce the interfacial charge recombination, resulting in an improvement in the performance of the DSSCs.
