제목 Highly sulfonated polymer grafted graphene oxide as a proton conducting layer in sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) nanocomposite membrane
초록 For the application of the proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), highly sulfonated polymer grafted graphene oxide (SATS-GO) was synthesized and incorporated into sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (SPAES) to fabricate the composite membrane. SATS-GO could be obtained by the reaction of graphene oxide (GO) and sulfonated poly(arylene thioether sulfone) (SATS) with mild reaction condition. As a control group, pristine GO composite membrane was also prepared to study the effect of SATS-GO on proton exchange membrane (PEM). SATS-GO composite membranes showed enhanced physicochemical properties including chemical stability and mechanical strength compared with pristine SPAES membrane. Moreover, the SATS-GO composite membranes containing proper amount of SATS-GO exhibited improved proton conductivity due to the sulfonic acid groups in SATS.
