Since high surface area of the electrodes in EIS based sensors could be attributed to dense binding of probe molecules on electrodes, high surface area contributes to improving sensitivity of sensors. However, in the case of graphene thin film electrode, structuring strategies is difficult to be applied due to its thin thickness. To overcome this limitation, in this study, we developed methods to enlarge the electroactive surface area of graphene electrode by utilizing octadecylamine modification that induce the inter-sheet spacing which results enlargement of surface area. Then, the ODA modified GO based electrode was employed to myoglobin sensors, and the limit of detection was reduced about 4 times than normal graphene electrode. |
