As the resistance of the current anti-influenza drugs has been illuminated, interest in developing virus entry blockers based on hemagglutinin inhibition is increasing. In particular, sialyllactoses (SL), the main residues present in the host cell receptor, has attracted attention as a candidate for the entry blocker. In this study, we designed and synthesized biological nanofibers carrying SL (SL-nf) with controlled loading levels and valencies. The SL-nf showed inhibitory activity against influenza A virus such as PR8 (H1N1) and X31 (H3N2), which was confirmed by hemagglutination inhibition assay, in vitro microneutralization assay and plaque-forming reduction assay. |
