There have been tremendous attempts to prepare electrocatalytic nanomaterials and construct electrode systems for effective water splitting reactions. The growth of transition metal-based heterostructures directly on specific substrates is promising for electrocatalytic applications. Herein, we report a facile preparation of flexible electrodes by loading tertiary metal (Ni and Fe)-based selenide nanocrystals onto nickel foil (NF-[NiFeSe]). In the synthesis, the as-prepared ultrathin nickel-iron hydroxides on nickel foil (NF-[NiFe]) with high surface area and well-uniform morphology are employed as an efficient template to obtain NF-[NiFeSe]. Under the optimized synthesis conditions, the resulted hybrid catalysts show the enhanced OER performance with low overpotential and Tafel slope values (191 mV and 56.48 mV dec-1, respectively), as well as high durability. |
