Emulsion polymerization is the easiest way to make core-shell nanoparticles. But, it is difficult to remove the emulsifier and mass production is limited. Those nanoparticles are available to CO2 Adsorption but defects such as the decreased mechanical property and thermal stability are appeared. Recently, copolymerization with other polymer or the organic-inorganic hybrid technology has been studied. Also, for emulsion polymerization, a method capable of polymerizing without a emulsifier has been developed. In this study, to overcome these problems, we synthesized core-shell nanoparticles by emulsifier-free emulsion polymerization that uses chemical reactions to graft the Acryl-POSS on polyethylenimine (PEI). The products were adjusted for pH concentration and the amount of tert-butyl hydroperoxide (TBHP) used as initiator. Characteristics of hybrid core-shell nanoparticles were analyzed by various analytical tools. |
