제목 Optical monitoring of halo chromic textile formaldehyde sensor based on mannich reacted (3-Aminopropyl)triethoxysilane in to sol-gel matrix
초록 Formaldehyde is a probable human carcinogen, an allergen, and an intense irritant of eyes and mucous membranes and is therefore highly problematic as an indoor pollutant. While there are numerous methods for detecting and measuring gaseous formaldehyde, there remains a need for an inexpensive, sensitive, and rapid analytical technology. pH-sensitive chromic textiles are promising materials that can be used as flexible sensor systems providing an easily visible signal. However to date, mainly conventional dyeing techniques have been applied for obtaining these textile sensors, which limits the possibilities in terms of pH-sensitive dyes and textile types. Therefore, The pH sensible material was obtained via sol–gel by using methyl red, a pH indicator, siloxane precursor. In conclusion, sol–gel showed to be a highly effective technique for the development of flexible sensors which allow for monitoring pH-variations through a color change.
