Synthesis and characterization of non-phthalate PVC plasticizer based on Cyclohexanedimethanol |
초록 |
Cyclohexane based plasticizers (e.g. DINCH made by BASF) have similar performance compared to traditional phthalate plasticizer and have the advantage of no toxicity to human health. In this study, Cyclohexanedimethanol based plasticizers with different alkyl chain length were synthesized via esterification using various carboxylic acid in the presence of p-toluene sulfonic acid as catalyst. The structure of plasticizers was confirmed by FT-IR and 1H-NMR. The synthesized plasticizers were applied to PVC fabrications and their plasticizing efficiency was investigated through mechanical and thermal analyses. Finally, properties of these plasticizers were compared to commercial plasticizers. |
