As a part of the series of investigations about the roles of polar and non polar plasticizers in polystyrene based ionomers neutralized with mono- to multi- valent cations, this presentation will be related with the poly(styrene-co-styrenesulfonic acid) copolymers. Glycerol and dioctyl phthalate (DOP) have also been added in various weight proportions. In first part of the investigations, we have used methacrylic acid as co-monomer. Here, we will show the relationship among the types of ionic repeat units, i.e. the co-monomers, amounts and types of plasticizers in these ionomeric systems. |
