Use of energy from hydrogen should increase as it is environmentally friendly. The technology for generating hydrogen by the splitting of water using a photocatalyst has attracted much attention. However, the photocatalytic decomposition of water on a TiO2 photocatalyst is ineffective as the amount of hydrogen produced is limited by the rapid recombination of holes and electrons. To improve rapid electron transfer from valence to conduction band, more investigations into the production of hydrogen, we have tried to prepare a new catalyst, the Ti (0.01, 0.1, 0.5 mol)-impregnated WO3 (1.0mol) photocatalysts, under a reducing compound, ascorbic acid, to make easily reduce the titania surface. |
