제목 Characterization of solid oxide fuel cell performance with syngas(H2, CO) fuel
초록 The reactivity of coal syngas as the fuel has been seldom studied with a variation of partial pressures of CO2 and N2 for SOFCs. Therefore, various mixtures of CO, H2, CO2, and N2 were used as fuel to investigate performance of a button cell with Ni/YSZ anode. Studies of the dependence of fuel concentration on cell performanceshowed that the kinetics of the electrocatalytic oxidation of H2 are positive order in pH2 for Cu-CeO2-YSZ anodes and nearly zero order for Ni-YSZ anodes. In contrast to previous studies, dilution of H2 was found to have little effect of the anode kinetics for Ni-YSZ anode.
