Recent developments in renewable energy have heightened the need for energy storage system (ESS). Among the promising candidate for ESS, inaqueous redox flow battery (RFB) using vanadium acetylacetonate (V(acac)3) as an active material have been interested. V(acac)3 has advantages such as wide potential range and reasonable solubility for organic solvents, but its instability on the air restricts the commercialization. Herein, V(acac)3 and chromium acetylacetonate (Cr(acac)3) were synthesized and their electro- and physical properties were investigated by various analytical methods including FT-IR spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, UV-visible spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). |
