New Candidate Method for Biomaterials; Brush Polymer with Peculiar Functional Groups |

We introduced new method that the functional groups for promotion of biocompatibility of materials were set placed of surface using brush polymer. The brush polymer which has long alkyl chain has well-defined structure on substrate. Through this character of brush polymer, we can get polymers which have the functional group in the end of side chain and also we can get a material that the functional group was set placed of surface when they were coated on substrate. We checked the physical properties of polymer surface through contact angle meter and X-ray. From water contact angle and X-ray, it was confirmed that the functional group of polymers was set placed of surface of substrate. With these samples, we test out their biocompatibility through five kinds of pathogens, HEp-2 cells and platelet rich plasma (PRP). The polymer surfaces which were prepared through the new method have highly biocompatibility we would found it. All results were discussed. |
