Preparation and radiation resistance of polymer nanocomposites |

In this study, we prepared polymer nanocomposites by a melt blending and investigated their radiation resistance. The polymer nanocomposites were prepared by a melt blending of a polymer with various nanofillers at different composition ratios. The prepared nanocomposites were exposed to gamma-rays up to 500 kGy. The resulting nanocomposites were investigated by using a universal testing machine, a differential scanning calorimeter, a thermogravimetric analyzer, and a chemiluminescence analyzer. The results revealed that the prepared nanocomposites exhibited a higher radiation resistance than the virgin matrix polymer. |
