Novel disulfonated silicate/sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) composite membrane for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell application |
초록 |
A novel silicate/SPAES composite membrane has been developed for high temperature polymer electrolyte membranes. 4-(3-(trihydroxysilyl)propoxy)naphthalene-2,7-disulfonic acid was synthesized by bonding 1-naphthol-3,6-disulfonic acid and 3-chloropropyltrimethoxysilane. The newly synthesized silicate compound was designed to have more sulfonate groups per mass as it has two sulfonate groups per Si molecule. TGA and EDX analysis was used to verify silicate content inside the membranes. Fuel cell evaluation at operating conditions of 80oC 100RH% and 120oC 50RH% was performed to quantify the novel silicate compounds effect in improving actual fuel cell performance. |
