In this study, the anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membrane is introduced as effective separator in the lithium-ion battery. AAO has unique intrinsic and structural properties, for example, superior wettability and thermal durability, controllable porosity, and extremely low tortuosity. These remarkable structural features can directly influence on the performance of LIBs. Herein, our AAO separator prepared by two-step anodization exhibits the higher ionic conductivity (2.196 mS cm-1) and discharging capacity (71.4 mAh g-1 at 0.2C), and lower capacity fading at high current densities (82.9 %) with compared to commercial polypropylene separator (Celgard 2500). To summarize, the highly-ordered and regular pore arrays of AAO induce even current distribution on the anode and cathode surface during the cell operation so that it can enhance stability and performance of LIB. |
