Size-Dependent Photocatalytic Activity of Silver Nanoparticles on Nitrophenol Reduction Reactions |

Various sizes of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were successfully synthesized via the rapid reduction of AgNO3 under mild conditions. The structural characteristics of the prepared AgNPs were confirmed using various spectroscopic methods. Then, AgNPs were applied to the photocatalytic reduction reaction of 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol. The catalytic performance of AgNPs was noticeably enhanced under visible light irradiation, as compared to that under dark. In addition, it was found that AgNPs showed size-dependent photocatalytic activity on the reduction reaction of 4-nitrophenol. |
