제목 Fabrication of 3D spherical colloidal photonic crystal with core-shell structural color domain
초록 3D spherical type of photonic crystal shows viewing-independent structural color characteristics owing to anisotropic lattice structure. If 3D spherical photonic crystal is composed of core-shell domain, complicated structural color and reflectance peak will be appeared. In order to fabricate core-shell domain photonic crystal, first, we crystallized colloidal suspension with osmotic annealing process. Subsequently oil shell acting as a semipermeable membrane is removed and colloidal photonic crystal(CPC) is exposed to another environment to change a distance between the colloidal particles which leads core-shell domain CPC. Therefore, two reflectance peaks caused by core-shell domain were appeared. To overcome stability issue, we used PVP-decorated polystyrene colloidal particles synthesized as emulsion polymerization to form adhesion forces between polystyrene and PVP molecules.
