From this research, we studied about functionalized graphene sheet included reverse osmosis membrane. Graphene sheet was designed by stacking of alternatively charged functional graphene by layer-by-layer deposition with several different thicknesses, and introduced on various type of active layer such as aromatic polyamide and weak polyelectrolytes. This sheet located on top or bottom of polymer active layer, lead to fabrication of various types of membranes. These various types of membranes are then tested for flux and rejection performance by laboratory scale test apparatus and chemical resistance test is also performed. By this study, we found that thickness of graphene layer is directly related to membranes entire chlorine resistance. And it is cleared that addition of graphene sheet on polymeric membrane gives notably increasing chemical resistance regardless of its position on membrane. |
