제목 Liquid Crystal Alignment Properties of Polysiloxane Derivatives Containing Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (POSS) Side Groups
초록 Liquid Crystal (LC) cells fabricated using the Polyhedral Oligomeric Silsesquioxane (POSS) dispersed exhibited homeotropic LC alignment behavior. The LC alignment properties of LC cells fabricated with films of polysiloxanes containing POSS and oligo(ethylene oxide) groups in the side chains were investigated. The homeotropic alignment behavior was correlated with surface energy of the polymer films and orientation of polymer chains. We also investigated electro-optical performance, thermal stability, and POM images.
