Carbon dioxide reforming of methane on Ni-MgO- Al2O3 catalysts were investigated systematically with various Mg/Al ratios in the view point of catalytic activity and coke resistance. The Ni-MgO- Al2O3 catalysts were prepared by a sol-gel method. The prepared catalysts were characterized by various physico-chemical characterization techniques such as XRD, N2 adsorption, TPR and TGA. While high coke resistance was obtained with MgO-rich Ni-MgO- Al2O3 catalysts (Mg/Al>16), high catalytic activity was observed with the catalysts of intemediate Mg/Al ratio (Mg/Al=0.5~5). |
