Studies on preparation and characterization of waterborne polyurethane(PU) have become more and more attractive because of the special and interesting characters of waterborne PU such as various particle size distribution, excellent adhesion, various chemical/mechanical properties and environment-friendliness, and so on. Therefore, there has been increasing interest for use in building and industrial products such as eco-friendly field. In this study, eco-friendly waterborne PU were prepared based on a variety of polyols such like polytetramethylene glycol(PTMG), poly(ethylene glycol) and poly(propylene glycol). Furthermore waterborne polyurethane(PU) were synthesized with different mole ratio of polyol and dimethylol propionic acid(DMPA), and so on. The chemical structure, viscosity, particle size of the waterborne PU were investigated. We evaluated the thermal and mechanical behaviors and especially examined the application of waterborne PU for building materials. |
