Organic Donor-σ-Acceptor Molecules based on X-shaped Anthracene and PCBM Derivative for Optoelectronic Applications |

A number of research has been made about energy-transfer and electron-transfer processes between a donor and an acceptor, which contribute to a various applications such as organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and solar cells. In this study, D-σ-A molecules containing PCBM as electron acceptor and high mobility anthracene-based X-shaped molecule as an electron donor has been successfully synthesized by means of a simple esterification reaction. By designing analogous molecular structures, dual functionalities such as p-type and n-type semiconducting properties were studied. Energy transfer and electron transfer process in one molecule were investigated by means of absorption, photoluminescence spectroscopy, and time-correlated single photon counting experiment. We also investigated the possibility to apply them to organic photovoltaic cell. |
