제목 Preparation of metal and metal oxide nanoparticles using poly(ethylene oxide) -b- poly(NiPAM)s
초록 In this report we synthesized successfully water-soluble block copolymer exhibiting temperature-responsive behavior using poly(ethylene oxide)-based macroinitiator. n-Butyllithium-initiated ring-opening polymerization of ethylene oxide was performed in the mixture of benzene and DMSO at 40℃, followed by chain-end functionalization to obtain macroinitiator for atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). This PEO-based macroinitiator was converted into the RAFT (reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer) agent containing the dithioester group. Using the RAFT agent and AIBN as an initiator, RAFT polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NiPAM) was successfully performed in toluene at 80℃ for 8h. The poly(ethylene oxide) -b- poly(NiPAM) was utilized for preparation of metal oxide nanoparticles such as ZnO or Fe3O4. We synthesized successfully and easily gold and silver nanoparticles stabilized by PEO -b- PNiPAM.
