제목 Synthesis and characterization of poly(ethylene oxide -b- N-vinyl imidazole) via RAFT(reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer) mechanism
초록 Xanthate type of PEO-based RAFT agent was synthesized in THF by the reaction of ω-brominated poly(ethylene oxide) and potassium ethyl xanthogenate. PEO -b- PVI was synthesized in toluene at 70℃ via RAFT(reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer) polymerization using PEO-based RAFT agent. This polymerization known as a controlled/ 'living' radical polymerization was found to provide the control of molecular weight of the block copolymers. Water-soluble PEO-based block copolymers exhibited pH sensitive phase transitions. In this presentation, we will report the result for preparations of block copolymers exhibiting pH-responsive phase transitions.
