Synthesis and structure Optimization of the Iso-Indigo type Blue photosensitizer for the DSSCs |

In DSSC, the dye is one of the most important component that determines the photo-response and initiates the primary steps of photon absorption and the subsequent electron transfer process. The dye has some limitations like the large scale application of complex because of the costs and environmental issues. Especially, the blue organic dye has some advantages in terms of the expansion of optical absorption spectrum up to 600nm. There are several blue dyes including aniline blue, bromophenol, alcian blue, isoindigo. Among them, Isoindigo-based sensitizers can result in broad spectral response even upto near NIR region and beneficial to light-harvesting for high electricity conversion efficiency. Recently, the theoretical calculation results demonstrated that the energy level of iso-indigo matches well with that of titanium dioxide. In this paper, we designed and synthesized the iso-indigo chromophoric organic blue sensitizers and evaluated the photon-to-current efficiency in DSSC. |
