Plasmonics have emerged as promising platform to develop novel nanomaterials and functional devices in diverse inter- or multi-disciplinary research areas. Representative viable exploitation of the unique plasmonic phenomena has been demonstrated in the field of photovoltaics, photocatalysis, light emission, theranostics, and nanoelectronics. Here, we introduce our recent efforts to realize tailored design, fabrication, and integration of hybrid plasmonic nanostructures in target-specific applications. We discuss plasmonic solar cells based on core-shell nanoparticles and Au nanopatterns generated by laser interference lithography. Optical biosensing integrated with graphene plasmonics will also be introduced. We turn to the use of responsive polymer linkers to mediate the coupling between localized surface plasmons (SPs) and propagating SPs for enhanced photocatalysis and sensing. Next, comprehensive activity of SPs for enhancing the light emission properties of FRET-based core@shell nanoparticles will be discussed. |
