Sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) as template material for poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) dispersion |

Water soluble sulfonated poly(arylene ether sulfone) (SPES) was developed as template material for in-situ polymerization and dispersion of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT). Sulfonated poly (arylene ether sulfone) was synthesized using 4,4′-hexafluoroisopropylidene diphenol (6FBPA) and 3,3′-disodiumsulfonyl-4,4′-dichlorodiphenylsulfone (SDCDPS) in N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP). PEDOT:SPES complex was developed by simple oxidative chemical polymerization of EDOT using sodium persulfate and iron sulfate in aqueous SPES solution. The PEDOT:SPES complex was spin coated over glass substrate and the dried PEDOT:SPES film was checked for their conductivity and transmittance. The conductivity increased ~200 fold after solvent treatment with transmittance of above 90%. After solvent treatment, the confirmation changes in the PEDOT structure were checked by AFM, Raman and UV spectroscopy. |
