제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Multi-Block Poly(arylene ether sulfone) Membranes with Highly Sulfonated Blocks for use in PEMFC
초록 In this study, novel sulfonated SPAES multi-block copolymer membranes containing highly sulfonated hydrophilic blocks were synthesized by nucleophilic aromatic polycondensation. Different hydrophilic oligomers sharing same hydrophobic blocks gave us exact comparison of effect of hydrophilic block moieties. The SPAESs were synthesized to have different IECs by combining hydrophobic and hydrophilic oligomers with different block lengths. Different local concentration of sulfonic acid in their hydrophilic blocks affected chemical and physical properties of the SPAES. Not only humidity dependence of proton transport but also other physical properties, such as water absorption behavior, IEC, morphologies, and fuel cell performance were investigated as PEFMC application.
