Compared to metal patterning, conducting polymers provide the feasible tuning of shape and line width as well as low-cost and short process time. Various conducting polymers were patterned onto the flexible substrates (polyimide, polyester, polycarbonate) using inkjet printing method. Water-dispersible conducting polymer nanoparticles and vaporized monomers were applied for pattern formation. The relationship between the conductivity of conducting polymer and film thickness, morphology, film roughness were investigated from the viewpoint of line patterning. These conducting polymer patterns demonstrated the feasibility of the potential applications such as chemical sensor, biosensor and field effect transistor (FET). |
