Preparation of Gradient PMMA brush by UVO gradient device |

ATRP (atom transfer radical polymerization) method with ((2-bromo 2-methyl) propiomyloxy) hexyl triethoxysilane (BHE) and Cu catalyst was used to prepare around 20 nm length PMMA blush on silicone wafer. The UVO gradient device was used to give different hydrophilicity of the polymer brush by moving the UV ramp with different time delay. Gradient polymer brush of PMMA was made by UV exposure and its physical properties were characterized by ellipsometry and contact angle measurement. From the experiment analysis, the more time delay made the shorter and the more hydrophilic PMMA brush. |
