제목 Methanol conversion to dimethyl ether on small pore zeolites
초록 Dimethyl ether production has been received much attention recently as it can be used as an environment-friendly fuel alternative to diesel fuel. Zeolites as the solid acid catalysts have been considered for the conventional process in the past decades to enhance the activity and selectivity of the catalyst. In this paper, we report the small pore zeolite, ferrierite and clinoptilolite as an active and coke tolerant catalyst for the dimethyl ether production. The acid properties of each catalyst were studied by NH3-TPD. Ferrierite catalyst has shown a high yield to dimethyl ether at 250oC without significant deactivation for 100 h due to its mild acidity and shape selectivity by small pore size.
