제목 Homeotropic Liquid Crystal Alignment Properties through Phase Separated Polymer Thin Film
초록 We have explored homeotropic alignment of liquid crystal (LC) molecules using ultraviolet (UV) irradiation induced phase separation techniques in LC cells composed of negative dielectric anisotropic LC and a photocurable monomer NOA65. Homeotropic alignment were maintained from changing the mixing ratio of LC and NOA65 ranging from 99 : 1 to 80 : 20 and UV irradiation time ranging from 0 to 30 min. The observed behavior is well correlated with the phase separated surface morphology of a polymer thin film and the wettability of polymerized of NOA films.
