Organic electronics is being highly recognized because organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) have a huge influence on the trend of displays for smart phones etc. In addition to OLEDs, organic solar cells (OSCs) are considered the second one for commercialization due to their encouraging power conversion efficiency reaching 11~13%. However, the stability and lifetime of OSCs should be further improved before considering the commercialization stage. For the last decade, our group has focused on the improvement of OSC stability and reported some positive results. Together with the well-controlled morphology and nanostructures in the bulk heterojunction (BHJ) layers, we found that the thickness of active (BHJ) layers is still significantly related to the stability of OSCs. This presentation will discuss the thickness effect on the efficiency as well as stability. |
