제목 Structure-Adhesion Relationship of Waterborne Anionic Polyurethanes
초록 Waterborne polyurethanes can be formulated with little or no solvent, and hence they are nontoxic, nonflammable, and do not pollute the air. Such environmental advantages coupled with increasing solvent price have steadily expanded their usages in a number of applications in textile coatings, fiber sizings, and adhesives of many polymeric and glassy surfaces.
In this study, to make high performance PU adhesive, we introduced various types of chain extenders and molecular weight of the macroglycol. Aqueous polyurethanes dispersion based on isophorone diisocyanate(IPDI), poly(tetramethylene adipate) glycol(PTAd), and dimethylolpropionic acid(DMPA) were synthesized by prepolymer mixing process. The increasement in the molecular weight of the macroglycol changed the degree of phase separation as well as the interactions between the hard and soft domains in the polyurethane structure. Also, we prepared polyurethane LIPN(latex interpenetrating polymer network), semi-LIPN and emulsion blend using butyl acrylate which subsequently were compared in terms of adhesion properties. Relationships between microphase separation and surface properties were characterized by dynamic mechenical thermal analyzer(DMTA), differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), T-peel and tensile test measurements and so on.
