제목 Synthesis and Characterization of water-soluble polyfluorene derivatives for optoelectronic devices
초록 In recent years, interest in conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs) has grown due to their water-solubility to be used for a variety of optoelectronic applications. Especially, water-soluble polyfluorene (WPF) derivatives have been previously reported for interfacial layer in polymer light-emitting diodes (PLED) and in polymer solar cells. The ionic groups of these polymers can effectively induce interface dipoles, resulting in tuning work function of the metal electrode. As a result, WPF polymers led to change open-circuit voltage (Voc) and eventually affect device efficiency in the photovoltaics. Based on these motivations, we synthesized novel WPF derivative, with ionic side chains to induce dipoles, by Suzuki coupling with palladium catalysts. In addition, we investigated the tuning of work function of the metal electrode by Kelvin probe microscope. Finally, we will present the device performances, such as PLED and solar cell, using our WPF materials.
