The application range of membrane technology has expanded from simple water treatment and gas separation, into solvent separation and healthcare applications. In order to promote sustainable growth of membrane market, some of the urgent hurdles must be overcome. First, the membranes must be fabricated in sustainable fashion. Secondly, the selectivity of membranes must be improved in liquid separation applications. Third, membranes should play more roles in rapidly-growing healthcare markets. In this presentation, these three frontiers of membrane technology will be discussed in depth. |
